Dashboard

Keep everything under control: order status (booked, delivered, picked, expired); temperatures; doors status (open/closed). Real time monitoring and alarms ensure rigorous compliance with safety standards.

Built to last

Our lockers, featuring 0.8 mm metal thickness and closed-cell insulation, are engineered to excel in demanding environments. Whether in industrial settings or outdoor venues, facing extreme temperatures.

Complete API

Whatever your business workflow, Penguin Lockers offer seamless integration. Our lockers feature a highly adaptable API that effortlessly integrates with various platforms and applications, allowing developers to easily incorporate refrigerated lockers into their existing systems.

Best fire reaction class

Our lockers meet railway fire reaction standards, achieved through collaboration with TFL (Transport for London) technicians to prioritize safety. Our unique design incorporates phenolic foam, an insulating material with a superior fire reaction class (Euroclass B s1 d0 / non-flammable, no smoke, no dripping).

Accurate temperature control

Penguin food lockers prioritize temperature control. In chilled applications we use powerful cooling units ensure the cold chain preservation, even in warm climates. In heated applications, multiple zone sensors and dynamic ventilation prevent food overcooking while strictly adhering to regulations.

Energy saving

Penguin lockers feature 6 cm thick phenolic foam insulation (0.018 W/mK) equivalent to 11 cm thickness with polyurethane. This results in a 40% reduction in power consumption.

How food delivery lockers work

WORKFLOW A

Click and collect

Delivery lockers app

1

customer

Collecting time slot is selected

Customers place their orders on your ordering system (e.g. a web shop or a mobile app), choosing a date and a time slot for picking. Behind the scenes, your ordering platform interacts automatically with our LMS (locker management system) in order to verify lockers availability.

2

SYSTEM

Delivery/Picking codes are generated

Once an order is placed, the LMS assigns one or more lockers to it, their status passing from “free” to “booked”. Then the LMS generates a unique picking code (used by customer) plus a unique delivery code (used by delivery staff). These two codes are passed from LMS to your ordering system for notification purposes.

3

SELLER

Products are delivered

A delivery personnel transports the items to the designated locker location. Once the delivery code of a specific order is entered, one or more lockers are unlocked and become accessible for the delivery. The order status passes from “booked” to “delivered”.

4

SYSTEM

Notifications are sent to the customer

The customer is notified through SMS, email, or app notifications, informing them that their package is ready for pickup. The notification includes the unique code and/or barcode required for access.

5

customer

Products are picked-up

The customer visits the locker location and enters the unique code (or scans the barcode / QRcode) to open the assigned locker and retrieve their packages.

6

SYSTEM

Order status is updated as “delivered”

Once the customer has entered the picking code, the order status is automatically updated to “delivered”.

Integration via API

API for food lockers

Each step of the click and collect workflow described above involves an automatic interaction via API between your ordering system (e.g. web shop or mobile app) and our LMS (Locker Management System). Penguin Lockers LMS provides a multitude of functions to manage even the most complex workflows, like for example the volumetric calculation extension used in grocery delivery.

Self closing doors, to preserve the cold chain

Keep doors closed is mission critical to avoid cold chain interruptions and consequent compulsory service suspensions as requested by governative regulations. Penguin food lockers seriously address these requirement as follows.

Doors do not open alone, they just flash

Unlike the industry standard, our doors just unlock and flashes instead of being automatically pushed out. This feature avoids accidentally forgotten-open-foors, in particular during retrieval across multiple lockers, such as in grocery deliveries.

Doors self-close, no push by hand needed

Unlike the industry standard, requiring to push or slam the doors to close them, Penguin Lockers doors, once left by the user’s hands, automatically reach the close position.

Low noise food lockers, suitable for indoor as well

Our food lockers are meticulously designed for silence, making them suitable for indoor installations also. Indoor-friendly components such as silenced compressors and low RPM fans enable usage in various settings like co-working spaces, offices and residential buildings. In fact, Penguin lockers emit noise levels comparable to high-end home fridges, measuring around 36-40 dB (depending on models).

Compact locker modules, easy to install with minimal foot print

Benefit from flexibility, scalability and portability coming from 1-door-width modules instead of typical 3-doors-width available in the market. The compact size of Penguin modules allows you to get the right storage capacity within a smaller footprint. You can easily expand or reduce your storage capacity by adding or removing modules as required. The compact size makes them more portable and easier to relocate if necessary. In case of multiple storage temperatures, it easier to set up a right sized pick up station.
